Don’t Deny Him and He Won’t Deny you

Don’t live your entire life denying God before the world. Don’t spend your days chasing what fades, while ignoring the One who holds eternity in His hands.

If you know Jesus—if you’ve felt His presence, heard His call, tasted His grace—yet still choose to turn away, then understand: that choice is yours. You made it. You can’t blame the world. You can’t blame your circumstances. That responsibility lies at your feet.

We live in a culture that glorifies self and drowns in distraction. Lust for power, wealth, fame, comfort—it’s all presented as the goal. But none of it satisfies. The world promises fulfillment, but all it delivers is emptiness. You may gain success, but lose your soul. You may have everything and still feel like nothing. Why? Because you were never created to be filled by the world. You were created to be filled by God.

Chasing the desires of the flesh—lust, greed, selfish ambition—will only leave you hungrier. It’s a cycle with no end, a trap disguised as freedom, an illusion built by man to cover the ache inside. But that ache can’t be medicated with money or dulled with distractions. It can only be healed by repentance—by turning back to the One who made you.

Only through repentance—true, humble, heart-wrenching repentance—can we be set free. Free from the lie that this world is enough. Free from the guilt and shame that keeps us running. Free from the prison of sin we thought was luxury.

I recently watched a movie that struck me deeply. In one scene, two characters wrestle with life’s unfairness. One, Mark, questions God after seeing a loved one suffer:

Mark: “You prayed and believed your whole life. Never done anything wrong. And here you are. You’re the nicest person I know. I am the meanest. You have dementia. My life is perfect. Explain that to me!”

The reply is chilling, yet full of truth:

Mina’s Mother: “Sometimes the devil allows people to live a life free of trouble because he doesn’t want them turning to God. Their sin is like a jail cell, except it is all nice and comfy and there doesn’t seem to be any reason to leave. The door’s wide open. Till one day, time runs out, and the cell door slams shut—and suddenly it’s too late.”

Too late.

Those words echo in my heart. That’s the danger of denying Jesus. The door is open now. Grace is available now. But that won’t always be the case. There will come a day when the opportunity to turn back ends, and the consequences become eternal.

Jesus Himself warned us:

Matthew 10:32–33
“So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.”

This isn’t a light matter. This is life and death—forever. We can’t be silent Christians in a world that needs loud truth. We can’t claim Him in private and deny Him in public. We can’t worship on Sunday and live for ourselves the rest of the week.

The Gospel calls us to die to ourselves, to take up our cross, and to follow Him. Not because it’s easy, but because He is worthy. And He is the only way out of the prison of sin that so many don’t even realize they’re in.

If you’re standing at the crossroads today, don’t choose silence. Don’t choose comfort. Don’t choose denial. Choose Jesus.

Acknowledge Him. Love Him. Follow Him.

Because when your time comes—and it will—you want to be standing before the Father, fully known and joyfully acknowledged by the Son who died to save you.
