Be the Flow: Another Chance to Make the World Better

Every day is another chance to make the world a better place. I woke today with a smile… and a sore back. My day could have gone either way. My mother was in the hospital, and my job already had a long lineup of tasks waiting for me. Before the day even really started, it felt full—heavy, even.

But somewhere in that moment, I made a decision. I decided I was going to have a blessed day… and I was going to bless as many people as I could. That choice didn’t remove the pressure, but it gave the day direction. I blessed the lady at QuikTrip instead of just passing through. I slowed down enough to be intentional. Later, I blessed the woman on the phone who had missed my contractor’s appointment. Normally, that would have frustrated me—at the very least left me disappointed—but instead, I took the path of least resistance. I chose not to fight the moment. I chose to flow through it. And honestly… it felt like water today.

One of my favorite people, Bruce Lee, said it best:

“Empty your mind. Be formless, shapeless, like water. You put water into a cup; it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.”

That quote wasn’t just something to admire today—it became something to live.

I could have let frustration take over. I could have let stress dictate my responses. I could have crashed into every inconvenience that came my way. But instead, I chose to flow. I adjusted. I softened my reactions. I moved with intention instead of emotion.
And in doing that, something changed. Not around me—but within me.

Scripture reminds us: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.” — Matthew 5:9

Being a peacemaker doesn’t always mean resolving big conflicts. Sometimes it simply means choosing peace in your own heart and carrying that into every interaction you have. There is already enough evil in this world. Enough negativity. Enough people reacting instead of responding. The world doesn’t need more of that. It needs people willing to do good. People willing to bless instead of break down. People willing to flow instead of crash.
Today, I chose to make a difference—even in the smallest ways. A kind word here. Patience there. A moment of grace where frustration could have taken over. And that’s all it really takes.

So I encourage you—go out today and thank God for His grace. Step into your day with intention. Bless as many people as you can. Make the world better, not worse. Because you have that choice. And you get that chance… every single day.

💭 Reflection
What kind of impact are you choosing to have today? Are you reacting to what comes your way, or are you intentionally bringing peace into it? Where can you choose to “flow” instead of “crash”?

🙏 Prayer
Lord, thank You for the gift of today. Even when life feels heavy or uncertain, remind me that I still have a choice in how I respond. Help me to move with grace, to speak with kindness, and to reflect Your love in every moment. Teach me to be like water—to flow with peace instead of reacting in frustration. Use me to bless others and make this world better, one interaction at a time. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

IN Christ
